Phony TV keeps burglars away when you're away

FakeTV is a burglar deterrent that recreates the light of real HDTV television. FakeTV's super-bright LEDs fill a room with light in thousands of possible shades of color, simulating scene changes, fades, swells, and and on-screen motion. From outside, it looks just like someone is home watching TV.

Set up FakeTV when you are away from home or away from your RV (or set up at both places).

Most burglars will not break into an occupied house. So when a prowler sees that flickering glow that means someone is inside watching TV, he knows to move on to an easier target. When you are away, FakeTV suggests a place is occupied far more than a lamp on a timer ever could.

FakeTV is environmentally friendly, consuming 50 times less power than a real TV. It is also only a fraction of the size of most televisions. It sells for less than $30 and is available at Amazon.com. Watch the video below to learn more about this unique device.

  1. I wouldn't depend on this. Many people leave the tv on while away to make crooks think they are home. They have gotten on to this tactic. They will watch your place to see if it ever goes off. If it doesn't they assume you are not there. My neighbor had her tv set in front of her door that had a window in it. She watches tv all night in the dark. Only the tv light shining. One night some crooks threw brick through the window on the door and started to come in when she screamed scaring them away. They had seen that tv on every night, all night and figured it she was away. If you are going to be away for an extended time, you had better put it on a timer. But they get on to this too.

  2. Does this run on 12 vdc? I know it has a AC power adapter, but does the unit run on 12 volts or some other voltage? Thanks.

  3. If you leave the radio on for audio, that would 'seal the deal' that someone was probably home.

  4. I agree a little bit with eeyore, you should probably pair Fake TV with a burglar alarm of some sort. Just to be extra safe.
